Lecture. The purpose of this class is to provide students with background and training in basic programming and computational methods to gain the skills necessary to work with a wide variety of data sets. In this course, students will learn how to use tools to visualize data and learn to understand the theory, practice and ethics of data collection and use. No prior programming experience is expected. Satisfies G.E. area UD-2.
