Lecture. Study of techniques used to protect stored or communicated digital information against adversaries. Discussion of authentication and access control, the basics of cryptography, basic system security, development of secure software, and protocols for secure communication. Prerequisite: CS 3100. (Lecture, 2 hours; laboratory, 2 hours)
